Justice for Claudia and All kidnapped Indigenous children!

Friday, June 1st at 7:30 PM

We will gather at the doorsteps of the Los Angeles faction of the United States Citizenship and Immigration building to demand justice for Claudia Patricia Gómez González a 20 Year old Mayan from Guatemala who was brutally shot in the head and killed by border patrol in Texas when she had crossed the Rio Grande and hid in the grass while unarmed. She was one among the thousands of murdered and missing indigenous, undocumented, and migrant children.

Recent reports finding that 1500 undocumented immigrant children have gone "missing" under the watch of the Federal organization Office of Refugee Resettlement. following this report White House Chief of Staff was quoted in response "the children will be taken care of — put into foster care or whatever. But the big point is they elected to come illegally into the United States and this is a technique that no one hopes will be used extensively or for very long." We will not stand for this illogical view of migration. Cecilia Munoz was President Obama's domestic policy director put it plainly: "But here's the thing. It is not illegal to approach the border and say, I want asylum. I fear for my life. The law actually provides for that. They are lumping folks who are essentially refugees in with illegal migrants. And it's not the same thing. In fact, it is legal to approach the border. These are not folks who are trying to evade our border authorities. They get to the border, and they look for the Border Patrol because what they're saying is I'm coming to the United States for refuge. And what we are doing is saying, fine, we'll take your children away."

If you believe the separation of families, the murdering of migrant youth, and violence& fear inflicted by the state and federal government is WRONG then please join us in this vigil for Claudia Patricia Gomez Gonzalez and all murdered/ missing migrants lost at the hands of the United States government.
*please join us and spread the word.
